Yes. All fees are paid directly to the university on its official website, as per Government and UGC rules. As a guidance platform, our only job is to help you choose the right university. We never handle your course payments.
The regular degree includes the cost of buildings, hostels, labs, utilities, campus staff, and physical infrastructure through fees. An online degree doesn’t include these costs. An online degree saves on relocation, rent, commute, and lost income; online degrees are 40% to 60% cheaper than a regular degree. And most learners go for an online degree due to its equivalency to a regular degree, and it’s cheaper than it.
Yes, only when the university is authorized by UGC-DEB for that programme. Under Regulation 22 of the UGC (ODL and Online Programmes) Regulations, degrees awarded online by recognised institutions are equivalent to regular-mode degrees, including for government jobs and higher studies. In addition, employers consider the university name, its accreditation, and your skills & knowledge.
Three parameters can help you determine whether the university is genuine or not:
Yes. UGC considers the degrees awarded online by UGC-DEB-entitled universities as equivalent to regular mode degrees, so there is no eligibility bar for private jobs, government jobs, or higher studies. In hiring, what gets considered is the university, its accreditation, and what you can demonstrate, not the delivery mode.
Online programmes offer placement assistance, not a placement guarantee. Any provider promising an assured job or a fixed package is claiming something it cannot stand behind.
What universities typically provide is a career services cell with job portal access, hiring partner drives, and resume and interview preparation. For working professionals, who form most online enrolments, the common outcome is internal: a promotion, a role change or a salary revision that was previously blocked by a qualification requirement. Freshers rely more on the career cell plus their own applications.
Some of it, yes, and that is a fair trade-off to acknowledge. Hostel life, the daily peer group, fests, and in-person lab time are genuinely absent. But, in Online Learning; you will get networking through LMS Portal to the Students and Professors as well.
Also, taking guidance in online learning with College Vidya provides you with other university learners also, where you can ask any doubts from them across worldwide universities.
You can verify an online university by checking on deb.ugc.ac.in before paying anything.
In addition, College Vidya has a FAKE Universities list that helps you check universities more easily. Also, they have their own University Ranking List with their own parameters, which they use to rank universities as per student reviews, fees, sessions, LMS, placements, recognitions, faculty, EMI, etc.
